In its efforts to build closer ties to Historically Black Colleges and Universities, three service fellowships were established for post-master's faculty from these institutions who wish to pursue their doctoral studies at UK . This award provides $20,000 per academic year plus tuition and health insurance and $3,000 for summer research support. Summer research participants must send a brief proposal outlining his/her research plans for the summer. Priority will be given to new nominations received by May 1, 2008.
